三角洲牙科基金会承诺25美元,000 grant to help students brush up on oral health

Grant funds school trips to 笑容背后 at 辛辛那提博物馆中心
辛辛那提- 台达牙科粉底 is helping students brush up on proper oral health by funding field trips to辛辛那提博物馆中心’s 笑容背后 展览. 在帮助超过2人之后,2016年,300名学生参观了这个展览, Delta Dental is providing grant funding of $25,000 to once again cover admission to the 展览 and transportation to CMC for the students. Field trip funding applications opened October 2.
The 笑容背后 展览 is a permanent addition to CMC’s 杜克能源儿童博物馆. 展览是博物馆的中心 辛辛那提少年联盟’s GrinUp! 倡议, which seeks to improve oral healthcare in children. The 展览 was funded, in part, by a $55,000 grant from the 台达牙科粉底. 通过初始资金, plus the recent grants for school field trips, 台达牙科已经提供了超过100美元,000 to support greater oral health education.
“We are proud to partner with 辛辛那提博物馆中心 and their 杜克能源儿童博物馆 in order to give thousands of children an outlet to learn about oral health in a fun and enriching setting,Teri Battaglieri说, 德尔塔牙科基金会主任.
台达牙科粉底’s commitment to childhood oral healthcare provides students and schools the opportunity to visit an 展览 unlike any other in the nation to learn the importance of proper oral health in a fun, 古怪的方式. 区内的学校 辛辛那提公立学校 system where 60 percent or more of students are eligible for free and reduced price lunch in kindergarten through fourth grade are eligible 应用 for funding. 合资格的学校可浏览 chinaqinyu.com/educators/resources 应用.
“The 台达牙科粉底’s incredible generosity has empowered so many children to learn more about proper oral healthcare, 丰富他们的思想和身体,伊丽莎白·皮尔斯说。, president and CEO of 辛辛那提博物馆中心. “We are so grateful they have expanded access to 笑容背后 as we work to fill the city with happy, 健康的微笑.”
Tooth decay is the leading chronic infectious disease in children. More than 40% of children nationwide experience dental decay by kindergarten. In 俄亥俄州, dental care remains the greatest unmet healthcare need for children, regardless of income. Locally, in 辛辛那提公立学校, one out of every ten children has visible tooth decay.
“Good oral health is closely linked to overall health. That’s why teaching children at an early age about taking care of their teeth and mouths is so important,巴塔列里说.
笑容背后 allows children to literally climb inside the mouth to explore and learn how to establish healthy dental habits at home. The 展览 features a full set of enormous, anatomically-correct teeth. Children can use giant floss and a massive toothbrush to practice proper flossing and brushing techniques, 通过游戏学习健康的习惯. The inside of the mouth is modeled after a dentist’s office, 配有一张斜倚的牙医椅, child-safe dental instruments and interactive videos. 通过教育, 笑容背后 can help reduce dental decay in children by teaching proper oral health habits.
的GrinUp! 倡议 and the 笑容背后 展览 are supported by 佳洁士b,三角洲牙科基金会, 美国口腔健康协会Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center辛辛那提青年联盟, 兰道 & 的同事 和辛辛那提博物馆中心.
